The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of coins of gold and silver.
Psalm 119:72
Amen!
Why did the Psalmist confess that he loved and valued God's teaching more than countless gold and silver?
Verse 71 confesses that it is because he learns God's teaching through affliction.
We dislike it when we are suffering.
After all, even Job, the righteous man of his time, disliked it.
However, we come to realize that suffering is evidence that God's love and grace have come upon us.
These are not my words, but the words of the Apostle James.
James 1:2,3;
He explains that it is a method by which God the Father trains His beloved children to obtain the fruit of patience.
It is good for me that I have been afflicted, for I may know the Father's heart!
