For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
Hebrews 6:4
The Lord encourages us to move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ—believing in Jesus, being baptized, studying the Bible, and serving in the church—and to achieve deep maturity in faith. (6:1,2)
This cannot be done by our own will alone; it requires God's permission. (6:3)
"We will do this if God permits!!!"
To put it another way, it is a stage of deep faith that goes beyond those who follow Jesus because they saw His miracles and wonders, to the stage of denying oneself, resolving to live a life like Jesus, and believing in the Jesus who rose from the dead.
The Bible warns in the following verses how terrifying the apostasy of those who have received the illumination of light and realized it, tasted the grace of heaven, and participated in the Holy Spirit is.
We should observe the gift of God as the faith in Christ!
