So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

Leviticus 10:2

Continuing from yesterday, Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu were supposed to fill the censer with fire from the altar of incense, but because they brought other fire and filled the censer with it, the fire of the LORD consumed them.

A similar event is found in Numbers 16:35.

The LORD consumed with fire the descendants of Korah who opposed God's servants Moses and Aaron, and those who despised God's holy work of salvation.

The church must listen carefully to the proclamation of the gospel through God's servants and obey.

The act of dividing the church congregation and forming factions is an evil act that despises God's holiness; therefore, we must repent and turn to God.

We must be holy because the Lord God is holy!
