"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Mark 14:38

Amen!

Peter and the other disciples sincerely believed in Jesus, followed Him, and desired to obey God with genuine hearts and spirits. Yet the Lord pointed out that, as human beings clothed in flesh, we are limited by the weariness and exhaustion of life in this world.

That is why God gave us the Holy Spirit as a gift—to strengthen our weakness and lead us in the path of righteousness.

We know in our spirit that the foundation of fellowship with the Holy Spirit is the Word that proceeds from the mouth of God and our prayers. However, when we neglect the discipline of the flesh—when we fail to meditate on God's Word and pray repeatedly—we become vulnerable to Satan's deception.

That is the warning Jesus gave. It leads to betrayal—turning away from God and drifting from Him.

Although those who truly believe in Jesus cannot lose their salvation, they must faithfully use the means God has given to preserve and strengthen their faith.

What are those means?

They are hearing the Word of God, understanding it, and breathing spiritually through prayer.

Keep the faith in Christ through the Word of God and prayer!

"너희는 시험에 들지 않도록 깨어 기도하라.

영은 원이로되, 육신이 약하도다.

마가복음 14:38

"마음은 원이로되"로 한글 성경은 기록하는데 영은 원이로되"가 정확합니다.

베드로를 비롯해서 예수님을 믿고 따르며 순종하려는 하나님을 향한 진실된 영, spirit!

그러나 육신의 겉 옷을 입은 인간은 지치고 피곤한 세상에서의 삶으로 한계가 있음을 주님께서 지적하십니다.

그래서 성령님을 우리에게 선물로 주셔서 약한 우리를 의의 길로 끌고가십니다.

성령님과 소통하는 근본적인 것은 하나님의 입에서 나오는 말씀과 우리의 기도라는 것을 영으로 압니다.

그러나 육신의 거듭되는 훈련이 없을 때 즉, 말씀 묵상과 기도가 없을 때 사단의 미혹에 빠지게 된다는 경고입니다.

바로 배신입니다.

하나님으로 부터 등지는 떠남을 뜻합니다.

예수를 믿음으로 구원을 잃을 수는 없지만, 그 믿음을 지키는 수단은 반듯이 필요하다는 것입니다.

그 수단이 무엇입니까?

하나님의 말씀을 듣고 깨달으며 기도로 숨을 쉬는 것입니다!
