there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
Esther 4:3(b)
Will we sometimes "drag" the bad situations we faced at the time out into the world?
Or will we "bring" them before God?
How does a person of faith react amidst tribulation on the brink of death?
This reaction is absolutely not something that happens overnight!
I believe it emerges from the unconscious, ingrained lessons and life habits that are latent within us.
How did Israel, living as captives and slaves, react to the tribulation of death?
They obtained salvation by surrendering before God.
They completely surrendered by covering their heads with ashes and crying out in repentance before God.
This surrender is God's grace toward us.
It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn His word.
