하지만 하나님께서 그에게 답하신 것이 무엇이뇨?

"내가 나를 위하여 바알을 숭배하지 않은 칠천인를 남겨두었느니라."

로마서 11:4

남은 자, 칠천인!

바알 선지자들과 싸워 승리한 엘리사에게 돌아온 것은 환대가 아니라 죽음과 같은 고독과 허탈이었습니다.

그때 주님의 위로 말씀을 바울 선생님은 우리에게 되새겨 주십니다.

칠천인을 남긴 이유가 무엇인가요?

엘리야를 위해서?

이스라엘을 위해서?

나와 내 이웃을 위해서?

절대 아닙니다!!!

***하나님 자신을 위해서***라고 말씀하십니다.

우리 교회가 잘 못 착각하는 하는 것이 이것입니다.

사역의 열매가 있다, 없다 라는 것이 내가 중심이 되어 자랑이되거나 실망이 되거나 한다는 것입니다. 하나님 자신의 영광을 위해서 하나님께서 일하신다는 것이 삶의 중심이 되어야 한다는 것을 교훈하십니다.

하나님 자신을 위해서 오늘도 우리를 세속에 물들지 않는 "남은 자"로 사용하십니다.

그렇기 때문에 믿음의 겸손을 배웁니다.

Seven Thousand Remnants!

What came to Elisha* after his victory over the prophets of Baal was not a warm welcome, but a deathly solitude and emptiness.

At that moment, the Apostle Paul reminds us of the Lord’s words of comfort.

​Why did He leave seven thousand?

Was it for Elijah?

Was it for Israel?

Was it for me and my neighbors?

Absolutely not!

He declares that it was for Himself.

​This is where our churches often misunderstand.

Whether our ministry bears fruit or not, we put ourselves at the center—either boasting or falling into despair. The lesson here is that our lives must be centered on the truth that God works for His own glory.

​Even today, He uses us as "remnants" unspotted by the world, for His own sake.

Therefore, we learn the humility of faith.
