So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

그러므로 믿음이 있는 자는 믿음이 있는 아브라함과 함께 복을 받느니라.

아멘!

구약의 아브라함이 왜 신약을 사는 우리 기독교에서 중요한 인물인지를 사도 바울 선생님은 여러 저서에서 강조하셨습니다.

우리가 잘 알듯이 믿음의 조상 아브라함!!!

그는 우리와 같은 한 인간으로, 자기 목숨을 위해 아내 사라를 여 동생이라고 하면서 이방 왕에게 주기까지 한 비겁한 사람이었습니다.

그런 그를 하나님께서 율법의 줄기에서 끊어 내시고, 믿음의 줄기의 상징 인물로 언약을 선포하실 때마다 아브라함의 하나님!

이삭의 하나님!

야곱의 하나님!

그리고 그 언약의 줄기에서 예수님이 육체의 몸으로 이땅에 탄생되셨기 때문에 중요한 인물인 것입니다.

6절 말씀에, "He believed God!" and it was credited to him as righteousness.

그가 하나님을 믿음으로 "의롭다"라고 하나님께서 그를 신용해 주셨습니다.

Credit 을 주셨다는 의미입니다.

CREDIT 을 히브리어로 상업적인 설명으로는, 하시브(חשב); 계산하다, 가치를 산정하다, 그런데 외부로 부터 계산된다는 오묘한 뜻이 있습니다.

그리고 성막의 제사 때에 헌물을 하나님께서 기쁘게 받으셔서 열랍되었을 때에 "하시브"라는 말을 사용한다고 합니다.

첫 아들 이삭을 하나님 보다 더 사랑한 것에 하나님께서 그를 의로운 자로 신용 해주신 것입니다.(창 15:6)

그리고 이삭을 순종의 제물로 바치려는 아브라함의 마음을 주님께서 기쁘게 받으셔서 크레딧을 주신 것입니다.

그러므로 믿음의 사람은 아브라함과 같이 축복의 근원이 되는 믿음의 신용을 하나님으로 부터 받습니다!✝️🎁

믿음 ↔️ 크레딧

여기서 믿음은 양방 통로임을 깨닫습니다.

"내가 믿는 하나님이 나를 신용해 주시는가?"

확신이 있다면, 믿음이 있는 사람입니다.

없다면, 나 혼자 "주여, 믿습니다!"라는 일방적인 입술의 고백에 그칩니다.

The righteous will live by faith credited from God!

Apostle Paul emphasized in several of his writings why Abraham of the Old Testament is a crucial figure for us as Christians living under the New Covenant. As we well know, he is the ancestor of faith!

​Yet, he was just a human like us—even showing cowardice by claiming his wife Sarah was his sister and handing her over to a pagan king to save his own life.

​God cut him off from the line of the Law and established him as the symbolic figure of the line of faith. Whenever God proclaimed His covenant, He declared: "The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob!" It is through this very covenantal line that Jesus was born into this world in human flesh, which makes Abraham such a pivotal figure.

​Verse 6 says, "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Because he believed God, God credited him as "righteous"—meaning God extended Credit to him.

​In Hebrew commercial terminology, the word for CREDIT is Chashav (חשב): to calculate or to impute value. Remarkably, it carries the deep meaning of a value calculated from the outside.

​Furthermore, it is said that Chashav was used during the tabernacle sacrifices when God received an offering with joy and accepted it.

​God credited him as righteous when Abraham loved God more than his firstborn son, Isaac (Genesis 15:6).

And the Lord joyfully accepted Abraham’s heart, which was ready to offer Isaac as a sacrifice of obedience, bestowing that credit upon him.

​Therefore, people of faith—just like Abraham—receive a divine credit of faith from God that becomes the very source of blessing! ✝️🎁

​Faith ↔️ Credit

Through this, we realize that faith is a two-way of communication and sharing.

"Does the God I believe in extend His credit to me?"

If you have that confidence, you possess true faith.

If not, it remains merely a one-sided verbal confession of "Lord, I believe!"

​The righteous will live by faith credited from God!
