Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.

언약을 어기고 악을 행하는 자들은 아첨으로 타락시킬 것이나, 자기의 하나님을 아는 백성은 강하여 큰 용맹함을 이룰 것이라.

아멘!

이스라엘 백성의 배도와 타락으로, 페르시아에게 망하고, 다음은 가장 악한 그리스의 왕 Antiochus Epiphanes가 등장할 때를 예언합니다.

그리스의 왕 안티오쿠스는 예루살렘 성전에 그리스 우상을 세우고 성경을 불 태우며 유대교 말살 정책을 세운 최악의 왕이었습니다.

오늘 본문의 예언대로 하나님의 언약을 멸시하고 왕의 권력에 빌붙어 뇌물을 주고 아첨하는 유대인은 악한 왕으로 말미암아 패망하게됩니다.

반대로, 구별된 의로운 백성, 즉 "자기의 하나님을 아는 백성"이 등장합니다.

이 백성을 이름하여 "마카비" 용사라 부릅니다.

유대 광야의 작은 마을에 살던 제사장 마따디아가 "우리는 절대 하나님을 배신할 수 없다!"라며 왕의 명령을 거부하고 반란을 일으켜 기적 같은 게릴라전으로 그리스군과 싸워 승리 하는 용맹군으로 후에 "마카비,Maccabees " 즉 망치로 부셔버린다는 뜻의 하나님의 군대였던 겁니다. ✝️💪

드디어 기원전 164년, 마카비 군대는 마침내 예루살렘 성전을 되찾았습니다. 성전 안의 더러운 우상들을 불태우고, 다시 하나님께 성전을 바치며 촛대에 불을 밝혔습니다.

이때 단 하루치밖에 없던 기름이 무려 8일 동안 꺼지지 않고 타오르는 기적이 일어났는데, 이를 기념하는 유대인의 큰 축제가 바로 오늘날의 하누카(Hanukkah, 봉헌절)입니다.

지금을 사는 우리 역시, 불의에 굴복하지 않고 "내 주인을 아는 하나님의 백성"으로 강하고 담대한 믿음의 용사되길 예수님의 이름으로 축복합니다!✝️🙌

Due to the apostasy and corruption of the Israelites, they fell to Persia, and the following passage prophesies the rise of the most evil Greek king, Antiochus Epiphanes.

​King Antiochus of Greece was the worst king, who set up Greek idols in the Temple of Jerusalem, burned the Scriptures, and implemented policies to eradicate Judaism. As prophesied in today's scripture, the Jews who despised God's covenant, clung to royal power, and bribed and flattered the king were ruined because of this evil ruler.

​Conversely, a set-apart and righteous people appears—"the people who know their God."

These people came to be called the "Maccabees."

​Mattathias, a priest living in a small village in the Judean desert, refused the king's command, declaring, "We can never betray God!" He led a rebellion and, through miraculous guerrilla warfare, fought and defeated the Greek army. They became a valiant force later known as the "Maccabees" (meaning "the hammer"), the army of God that smashed its enemies. ✝️💪

​Finally, in 164 BC, the Maccabean army reclaimed the Temple of Jerusalem. They burned the unclean idols inside, rededicated the temple to God, and lit the menorah. At that time, a miracle occurred where a single day's supply of oil burned for eight full days without going out. The great Jewish festival celebrating this event is known today as Hanukkah (the Feast of Dedication).

​Living in the present day, may we also refuse to yield to unrighteousness and stand strong and courageous as warriors of faith—"a people who know my God." I bless you in the name of Jesus! ✝️🙌
