James 2:1 / 10-27-26
My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
James 2:1
The grace and love of our Lord God Jesus Christ is true forever and ever!
Partiality :
Interestingly, the Greek word partiality is used in a way that reflects a Hebrew idiom. It refers not merely to a single act of discrimination, but to the many forms of favoritism and discrimination that occur in everyday life, including judging people by their outward appearance, discriminating on the basis of social status, and treating people differently according to their wealth or poverty.
The Apostle James explains in detail how such discrimination takes place within the church community.
When a rich man enters the church, he is shown to a seat of honor. But when a poor man comes in, he is told to stand or to sit at someone’s footstool.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, chose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the Kingdom of God, which He promised to those who love Him (James 2:5).
Who, then, are those who love God?
Are they not those who proclaim the Gospel of the cross of Jesus Christ?
Yet, I have often seen church pastors themselves look down on poor evangelists who proclaim the Gospel.
Theology and the churches of this world may change with the times, but the eternal Word of our everlasting God remains forever true and steadfast in truth and love, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21!
The grace and love of our Lord God, Jesus Christ, are true forever and ever!
