Genesis 49:8 / 10-25-26
“Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s children shall bow down before you.
Genesis 49:8
유다야, 네 형제들이 너를 찬송할 것이며, 네 손이 네 원수들의 목을 잡을 것이요, 네 아비의 자손들이 네 앞에 엎드려 절하리로다.”
창세기 49:8
계속해서 유다의 이야기를 나눕니다.
오늘 본문은 아버지 야곱이 네째 아들 유다를 축복하는 예언적 기도입니다.
"네 형제가 너를 찬송 하리라." :
유다의 엄마 레아는 남편 야곱의 사랑을 받지 못한 천덕꾸러기였습니다.
첫째, 둘째, 셋째 아들을 낳을 때까지 남편을 구애하는 심정으로 이름을 지었습니다.
그러나 유다 넷째를 낳으면서 레아가 고백합니다.
"이제는 내가 여호와를 찬송하리로다!"
남편의 사랑이 아닌 하나님의 사랑을 사모하며 찬양하겠다는 고백으로 완전히 바뀌어 "유다" 라고 이름을 짖습니다.
(29:35)
이 이름은 장차 유다 지파로 부터 다윗의 계보를 통해 만유의 주인이시요, 왕으로 찬양받으실 예수님!!!
사단의 머리를 밟으시고, 원수 사단의 목을 잡으시고 승리하는 주님에 이릅니다.
37장, 유다의 불의!
38장, 유다의 부도덕!
이런 유다가 고백합니다.
"그 녀(다말)가 나 보다 의롭다!"
이 고백은 회개입니다.
하나님의 은혜 란?
죄를 덮는 것이 아니라 깨달아 회개함으로 구원의 축복을 지키게 합니다.
내 스스로의 도덕과 의 그리고 능력이 아니라 선물로 주신 보혜사 성령님의 능력으로 끝까지 구원을 이루십니다.
예수님 때문에 하나님 나라의 시민권을 가진 우리, 시민권자답게 삽시다!

We have citizenship in His kingdom of heaven.
We continue our sharing on the story of Judah.
Today's passage is the prophetic prayer of blessing from his father Jacob upon his fourth son, Judah.
"Your brothers shall praise you." :
Judah’s mother, Leah, was an unloved and neglected wife to her husband, Jacob.
When giving birth to her first, second, and third sons, she named them out of a desperate longing to gain her husband's affection.
However, when giving birth to her fourth son, Judah, Leah confessed:
"Now I will praise the Lord!" (Genesis 29:35)
She shifted her heart from seeking her husband’s love to longing for and praising God’s love, and thus named him "Judah" (which means Praise).
Through this name, from the tribe of Judah and through the genealogy of David, comes Jesus, who is praised as the Lord of all creation and the King!
He treads upon the head of Satan, holds the neck of His enemy, and reigns in ultimate victory.
Chapter 37: Judah’s injustice!
Chapter 38: Judah’s immorality!
Yet this very Judah confesses:
"She (Tamar) is more righteous than I!"
This confession is true repentance.
What is God’s grace?
It does not merely cover up sin, but brings us to realize and repent of it, preserving the blessing of salvation.
Salvation is completed to the end—not by our own morality, righteousness, or ability, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Counselor given to us as a gift.
Because of Jesus, we hold citizenship in the Kingdom of God.
Let us live worthy of our citizenship!
