Therefore be imitator of God as dear children.

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma.

​"Imitator"는 단순히 모방하거나 흉내 내는 수준이 아니라, 뼛속까지 닮는다는 의미입니다.

자녀가 부모의 DNA와 RNA를 이어받는 수준을 넘어, 영과 혼과 성품이 하나님을 닮아 간다는 히브리어적 해석입니다.

창세기 1장 27절이 그 시작점입니다.

​인간을 하나님의 형상대로 만드셨기에, 그의 모습, 그의 거룩함, 그의 사랑, 그의 의, 그의 속성을 뼛속까지 닮아 주의 사랑으로 행하라는 강력한 메시지입니다.

​그런데 나와 내 친구가 정말 이렇게 닮을 수 있을까요?

누군가 내게 묻는다면, 나는 돌아서서 절망할 수밖에 없을 것입니다.

​하지만 사도 바울 선생님은 절망하는 나와 내 친구에게 2절의 말씀으로 구체적인 격려를 주십니다.

바로 예수님께서 화목제물(Propitiation)로 드려진 십자가 사건입니다.

​우리가 뼛속까지, 혈관과 세포 하나하나에까지 십자가 사랑을 새겼다면, 우리도 그 사랑 안에 거하여 하나님을 닮아갈 수 있다는 소망을 주는 격려의 메시지입니다.

​예수님께서 이미 우리 마음 가운데 부어주신 사랑의 성령님이 도우시기 때문에, 우리는 하나님을 조금씩 조금씩 닮아갈 수 있습니다! ✝️♥️

​"Imitator" does not simply mean copying or mimicking someone; it means resembling them to the very core of your bones.

Beyond the natural inheritance of a parent's DNA and RNA, it carries the Hebraic interpretation of our spirit, soul, and character becoming like God.

Genesis 1:27 is where this begins.

​Because He created humanity in His own image, this is a powerful call to resemble His appearance, His holiness, His love, His righteousness, and His nature to the very core of our being—and to walk in His love.

​But can my friend and I truly resemble Him like this?

If someone were to ask me, I would have no choice but to turn back in despair.

​Yet, the Apostle Paul encourages us in our despair through the message of verse 2.

He points us to the event of the cross, where Jesus offered Himself as a propitiation for our sins.

​It is a message of encouragement that gives us hope: if the love of the cross is engraved deep into our bones, our veins, and every single cell of our body, we too can abide in that love and grow to resemble Him.

​Because the Holy Spirit of love—whom Jesus has already poured into our hearts—helps us, we can resemble God step by step, little by little! ✝️♥️​
