1 Samuel 13:14 / 10-31-26

" But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."

1 Samuel 13:14

"지금은 왕의 나라가 길지 않을 것이라. 여호와께서 당신에게 명하신 바를 당신이 지키지 않았으므로 여호와께서 자신을 위하여 주님의 마음에 합한 사람을 찾으셔서 그의 백성의 지도자로 세우시기로 명하셨느니라.

사무엘상 13:14

이스라엘이 왕을 달라해서 하나님께서 최초의 왕 사울을 주십니다.

그가 처음에는 겸손했지만 권력을 갖게되니 하나님께 예배하는 제사법을 제사장 사무엘 대신에 자기가 행합니다.(13:8,9)

하나님의 계율을 어긴 사울에게 사무엘이 하나님의 말씀을 대언하는 대목입니다.

The LORD has sought for Himself...

하나님께서 자신을 위해 사람을 찾으신다는 이 말씀에 깊은 울림이 있습니다.

우리가 예수님을 믿으므로 하나님의 자녀된 것은 하나님 자신의 영광을 위한 부르심입니다.

사울이 왕이 된 것도 하나님 자신의 영광을 위해 세우신 것이었는데, 그는 사람의 눈치를 보고 주님의 명령을 어겼습니다.(13:8)

세상의 눈치를 보는 우리의 약함도 사울과 같지 않나...라는 생각을 하게 됩니다.

특별히 교회 공동체를 맡은 지도자들이 실족하기 쉬운 것이 교회가 커지면 자기 영광으로 돌리는 범죄입니다.

구약의 제사는 지금의 교회 예배입니다.

강단에서 하나님의 말씀, 복음을 선포하여 하나님께 영광을 올려드리라고 목사로, 선교사로, 교사로,... 세우신 것입니다.

그리고 하나님의 자녀로 말씀에 순종하라고 부르신 것이고요.

하나님은 정확하게 사람의 마음을 감찰하십니다.

약한 자에게는 능력을 주시고, 격려하시고, 자세히 설명도 해 주십니다.✝️♥️

하나님의 영광을 위해 주신 은혜를 남용하는 자는 징벌이 따릅니다.

그래서 하나님은 사랑하는 자녀를 "이 편한 세상"에서 살도록 방치하시지 않는다는 것을 우리는 잊지 맙시다!✝️🙌

The Lord God leads us in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake!

When the Israelites demanded a king, God gave them Saul as their very first king. Although he was humble at first, once he gained power, he committed the act of offering the sacrifice himself—a duty reserved for the prophet Samuel—instead of waiting for him (1 Samuel 13:8–9).

​This is the scene where Samuel delivers God’s message to Saul, who had broken God's commandment:

​"The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart..."

​There is a profound resonance in these words—that God seeks a person for Himself.

Our becoming children of God through faith in Jesus is a calling for His own glory.

Likewise, Saul was appointed king for God’s own glory, yet he cared too much about what people thought and disobeyed the Lord’s command (1 Samuel 13:8). It makes me reflect on how our own weakness—conforming to the eyes of the world—is so much like Saul's.

​This is especially true for leaders entrusted with church communities, who are easily prone to stumble by taking the glory for themselves as the church grows.

​The sacrifices of the Old Testament correspond to today's church worship. God has appointed pastors, missionaries, teachers, and others to proclaim His Word and the Gospel from the pulpit to bring glory to Him, and He has called us as His children to live in obedience to His Word.

​God examines human hearts with exact precision. To the weak, He grants power, offers encouragement, and gives thorough explanations. ✝️♥️ However, those who misuse the grace given for God’s glory will face His judgment. Let us never forget that God does not abandon His beloved children to merely live in "a comfortable world"! ✝️🙌
